Susan Myra Mabey Robison
June 7, 1950 - July 21, 2024
Salt Lake City, UT - Susan Myra Mabey Robison, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away surrounded by her family on July 21, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Susan was born on June 7, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to loving parents, Douglas R. and Peggy Myra Mabey. She was the 3rd of 9 children and was blessed to grow up in Holladay, Utah, in an idyllic home filled with love and the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved her brothers and sisters. They became her sweetest friends and greatest source of strength and comfort.
Susan married and had 4 wonderful children, Melissa, Allyson, Adam and Amy. They were her greatest joy and center of her universe. Being their mother was her greatest blessing and that love increased dramatically as she welcomed grandchildren and great grandchildren into her family. Her commitment to being involved in her children's lives was unwavering.
As a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held various callings throughout her life. She dedicated her time and talents to these callings and consecrated her efforts to the Lord. Susan loved her career in the real estate and mortgage industry for over 45 years. This afforded her the opportunity to have flexibility to raise her children and provide for their needs. She found great joy in the success she achieved by maintaining an impeccable work ethic that gained her many accolades and professional achievements. Susan loved being involved with the PTA while raising her children, and served as PTA president at Skyline High School. Fostering and maintaining relationships was always important to Susan. Whether it was bringing together high school friends or family, all would come and reconnect thanks to her efforts and constant invitations. She was also a proud descendant of Mayflower and pioneer heritage which she studied, drew strength from, and continued their legacy of faithfulness and grit.
During her life, Susan endured many trials and hardships. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained a stalwart disciple of Jesus of Christ, a devoted mother, and wonderful grandmother and great grandmother until the very end. Susan was loved and honored by those lucky enough to be under her protection and influence. Her children will forever be grateful for her example of discipleship, determination, perseverance, enduring it well to the end, unconditional love for her children and always striving to cherish every moment with those she loved.
In 2012, Susan reconnected with and married her high school friend, Ken Robison, who has loved and cared for her over the past 12 years, enduring even the most difficult parts of the last 7 years after she was diagnosed with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Robison, children: Melissa Weston (Richard), Allyson Ashment (Jason), Adam Storheim (Marianne), and Amy Edwards (Mark). Ten grandchildren: Sam (Cami), Sarah (Brandon), Seth (Eliza), Ashley (Alex), Savannah (Marcus), Sydney, Holly, Eliza, Amelia and Lillian. Five great-children: Ava, Wyatt, Paul, Jane and Claire. Her siblings, Mark (Wendy), Brent (Mary), Bruce (Christi) and Lisa (Robert), and 26 nieces and nephews. Susan is preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Douglas Rogerson Mabey and Peggy Myra Madsen Mabey. Her treasured siblings, Maryanne, Steve, Jim, and Rob, and darling nephew Thomas Lund.
