- Marjorie Elizabeth (Moore) Mabey - December 9th, 1914 - June 28th, 2010
The Mabey family announces the peaceful passing of their mother Marjorie Elizabeth Mabey of Saint John, wife of Reginald (Ted) Mabey and daughter of the late Percy E. and Sadie A. (Vincent) Moore. She lived all her life in Saint John working at Simms Brush Factory before her marriage and at Sears Canada for many years following the raising of her four children. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the former Victoria Street Baptist Church where she was a Charter member of the Golden Chain Class. She and her husband, Ted, dedicated more than a quarter of a century of their lives to the boys of the Wolf Club Pack and Boy Scout Troop of Victoria Street Baptist Church and Scouting in general. She also served as a District Commissioner of Cubs for the Saint John Region and a Gilwell Camp Leader for New Brunswick. Boy Scouts of Canada conveyed the Medal of Merit and Bar upon her for her tireless and exceptional service to Scouting. An Honourary membership of the 61st B-P Guild of Canada was bestowed upon her in 2003. She was a life member of the Pythian Sisters and served as Most Excellent Chief of Loyalist #13 Temple Pythian Sisters on several occasions. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Bob & Heather) Mabey of Rothesay, NB; Gerald (Gerry & Margaret) Mabey of Saint John; daughter-in-law, Gail Mabey of Saint John; one daughter, Valerie (Richard) Grant of Saint John; one sister, Verna Blackwell of Sudbury, Ont.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother and father she was pre-deceased by a son, David; one brother, Robert Moore and a sister, Audrie Dryer. Her family gives praise to God for the mother she was and for where she is now. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Wednesday, June 30th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 1st from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church, 211 Main Street, Saint John, NB on Friday, July 2nd at 1:00am. Interment will take place at the Maces Bay Cemetery following the reception.

- Valerie Grant (nee Mabey) passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 28, 2011. Valerie was the wife of Richard Grant, the daughter of the late Reginald (Ted) and Marjorie (Moore) Mabey. Valerie is survived by two sons Lorne (Lisa), Todd (Bonnie) both of Saint John; three grandchildren Courtney, Jonah, Tony (Caitlin); great grandson Logan; brothers Robert (Heather) Mabey of Rothesay, Gerald (Margaret) Mabey of Saint John. Valerie will also be remembered by her sister-in-law Gail as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, one brother David Mabey, and her mother-in-law Frances Grant. Valerie was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, Pythian Sisters Loyalist Temple #13. Valerie loved doing crafts and gardening and playing the organ in many places including Castle Funeral Home for many years. Valerie will be missed by long time friend Marlene Perry, Gary and Pat Tait and thanks to Rae, the security guard at SJRH. Special thanks to Extra Mural, especially Cathy Kennedy. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday, March 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. also at Castle Funeral Home Fallsview Chapel. The interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Fallsview Family Reception Centre. - Reginald Bishop Mabey was born March 31, 1916 in Saint John Newbrunswick Canada to Lewis Burling and Florence Elmina (Foster). He was married to Marjorie Elizabeth (Moore) June 3 1937 (d. June 28 2010) at Victoria Street Baptist Church. They had 4 children Robert Bishop( Heather McDonald 1975) , Gerald Wilbur( Margaret Webb m.1964), David Lowell(d. Aug 1 1993)( Gail Saunders m.1962) and Valerie Anne ( d. Feb 28 2011)( Richard Grant m.1966). Ted had three brothers Francis Burling, Ray Manning and Wilbur Coleman all lived in Saint John area. Both Ted and Marjorie were active in Canadian Scouting movement. Throughout his life he worked at various jobs, to name a few; Saint John Nail Co., SMT transit , Port City Motors. Ted and Marjorie moved to Maces Bay ( a short distance south of Saint John) to retire. November 5 of 1990 Ted passed away and was buried in the Maces Bay cemetery. At the time of his death he had 13 grand children and 3 great grand children
