- Dorothy Irene Suter, 92, of McMechen, W.Va., died Friday, October 21, 2011 in Moundview Nursing Home.
She was born June 29, 1919 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, a daughter of the late William H. and Helen Eliza Mabee Crooks.
Mrs. Suter became a U.S. citizen in 1976 and was a very active member of the First Church of God, McMechen.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl B. "Brownie" Suter; one sister, Helen Dunlap; and a granddaughter, Cheryl Sue "Susie" McMasters.
Surviving are two children, Dorothy McMasters of Moundsville, W.Va., and Earl (Loretta) Suter of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five grandchildren, Karen Whipkey, Linda Vavrock, Leslie Foster, Lisa Hayward and Lance Suter; 12 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Ethan Vavrock, Justin and Jessica Whipkey, Nathan and Brett Foster, Ty, Tate and Reece Hayward, Spencer and Sara Beth Suter; and one great- great-grandson, Charlie Vavrock.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St., McMechen.
