- Rosemarie Salmon, 84, died on Monday (July 31, 2017) at Rochester General Hospital. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 4th) at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. in Clyde. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 5th) at St. John's Catholic Church on DeZeng St in Clyde. Entombment will be held at St. John's Cemetery
Mrs. Salmon was born in Lyons, New York on February 4, 1933 the daughter of Cyril and Paulyne Webber Mabie. Rosemarie earned her degree from William Smith College in Geneva. She married John Salmon and raised four children. Rosemarie had worked at Parker Hannifin and then as an X-ray tech at Lyons Hospital. She retired from the Human Resource Department at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. An active member of St. John's Church she led the RCIA program, chaired the Parish Council, and was a lector and Communion Minister. She would often host meetings in her own home. For the last 24 years she devoted herself to her son Randy as his caregiver.
Mrs. Salmon is survived by three sons Kirk, Douglas and Randall; a daughter Stacy Salmon , three grandchildren, four great -grandchildren; and a sister, Priscilla Paliotti.
She was predeceased by her husband, John and two sisters Geraldine Burnham and Catherine VanHall

- One of the prettiest weddings of the season occurred in Newark on Monday morning when Miss Pauline Weber, daughter of Mrs. Catherine Weber of Newark, became the wife of Cyril Mabie. Son of Mr. and Mrs George Mabie. of Clyde. The beautiful ceremony was performed at 8.30 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, by Rev J. A. Gibbons.
The bride was attired in a charming gown of pale green georgette, trimmed with rhinestones. She wore a white picture hat and carried a shower bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley, orchids, sweet peas and bride's roses, caught with ribbon streamers. She was attended by her sister. Miss Eva Weber, who wore a stunning creation of orchid crepe, trimmed with grey fur. She also wore a grey picture hat and carried a shower bouquet of butterfly roses, orchids and sweet peas. Mr. Edward Fraher, of Rochester, formerly of Clyde, was best man.
The groom's present to the bride and to the bridesmaid was each a string of pearls. To the best man he presented a watch chain of white gold.
Following the ceremony the bridal party, immediate relatives, Rev. Gibbons, and Mrs. E. J. Rigney of Rochester, enjoyed a wedding breakfast at the home of the bride's mother. After this event, the bride and groom came to Clyde for a short visit before leaving on a honeymoon motor trip to the Adirondacks. Mrs. Mabie wore a traveling suit of navy blue, with hat to match. Upon their return, Mr. and Mrs. Mabie will reside in Newark.

- In a quiet ceremony in the rectory of St. Johns Catholic Church, Clyde, Miss Rose Marie Mabie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Mabie of Clyde, and John Salmon, son of Mr. and Mrs Frank Salmon of Rose Road, Clyde, were united in marriage Saturday morning. Feb. 27, at 11 o'clock, the Rev. J . V. Curtin officiating.
Miss Patricia Dapolito of Clyde and Pvt. Richard Gibbons of New York City were the couple's attendants. The bride wore an original French suit in beige with brown accessories and corsage of purple violets and a white rose.
The bridal party dined at the Rainbow Inn in Newark, then returned to Clyde for an informal reception for some fifty friends and relatives at the Hoy apartment on Glasgow Street from 2 to 5 o'clock. Guests were present from Rochester, Geneva. Newark and Lyons. After a brief trip the couple will reside in the Hoy apartment until May 1.
The bride is a graduate of Clyde Central School and studied at William Smith College in Geneva. At present she is employed at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. The groom, also a graduate of CCS, served in the Army in the European Theatre of Operations for almost three years.
