  	James Edward Maybee, Jr., 10 months old, died yesterday at Amsterdam City Hospital where he was taken earlier in the day. Born in Amsterdam. August 12, 1945, he was the son of James Edward and Alice May Dingman Maybee. Surviving besides his parents are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Dingman, Nelliston, and Mr. and Mrs. James S. Maybee, Northville, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Houghtaling's funeral home, the Rev. David T. Hill, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Brown Cemetery, Canajoharie.

  	A man tentatively identified by police as James S. Maybee, 31, who resided in Nelliston until two years ago, was found crushed to death yesterday under tons of steel in a gondola car at Alexandria. Va. Inspector Russell Hawes of the Alexandria police said the man apparently had hitched a ride in the car and was killed when the cargo shifted. He is survived by bis wife, the former Alice Dingman of Palatine Bridge.
