- Waldwick – Funeral services for Mrs Cora M Mabie, wife of Fred Mabie, of Dow avenue, will be held this afternoon in the Waldwick ME Church with the Rev Neal R Van Loon, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow in Valleau cemetery.
Mrs Mabie who passed away on Saturday in Paterson General hospital from a complication of diseases, was in her thirty-fourth year. Mrs Mabie has been a resident of the borough all her life. She is survived by her husband; three children, Gloria, Edward, and Fred Jr; her parents Mr and Mrs Alexander Blair; two brothers; James and Frank; three sisters Irene, Jennie and Florence, all of whom reside in the borough.

- Fred Mabie, 56, of 10 Dow Avenue, Waldwick, died yesterday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, after a short illness. He was born in Ridgewood August 10, 1898, the son of the late Anna Osterander Mabie and Frederick Mabie. He was the husband of Martha Van Dyke Mabie and had resided in Waldwick the past 34 years. He had been employed by the Erie Railroad for 33 years as a maintenance man.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at the J H Olthuis and Son Funeral Home, Midland Park, with the Rev Sylvestus Henson of the Waldwick Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter Gloria Jean who lives at home; five sons Fred J, Robert H, Donald T, and Kenneth W of Waldwick, and John E of Upper Saddle River, and a sister Mrs Myrtle Reilly of Paterson.

Surviving are three sons, Robert H of Oak Ridge, Donald T of Wyckoff, and Kenneth W of Waldwick, two stepsons, Frederick Jr of Waldwick, and John E, of Upper Saddle River, a stepdaughter, Gloria J Durkin of Wayne; a brother, Harry Van Dyke of Norwalk, Conn; 18 grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. He husband Frederick; a son, Charles; two brothers, Gary and Henry Van Dyke are deceased. Services will be Wednesday at Vander Platt Funeral Home, Wyckoff.

- Gloria ( Mabie) Durkin, age 74, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at home in Wayne. Mrs. Durkin was born July 22, 1931 in Waldwick, NJ the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Cora (Blair) Mabie,
She lived in Wayne and was formerly of Hawthorne.
She was employed by Eastern Paint & Varnish Hawthorne,NJ where she was the Office Manger for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Durkin was a member of Waldwick United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Peter Durkin of Wayne, two daughters: Debra DeGraff of Greenwood Lake, NY, Darlene Robinson of Butler, five brothers: Fred Mabie of Ridgewood, NJ, John (Ed) Mabie of Upper Saddle River, NJ, Robert Mabie of Jefferson Twsp, NJ,and Donald Mabie of Wyckoff, NJ. Her brother Kenneth Mabie passed away on 9/30/05.
A memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 25 Franklin Tpke. in Walwick,NJ on Saturday October 8, 2005 at 2 PM.

- Frederick James, Jr. "Fred" Mabie, age 89, died peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Corona del Mar, CA where he had been a resident for the past year. Fred was born and raised in Waldwick and lived there his entire life before moving to Corona del Mar. He retired from N.J. Bell Telephone Co. following a distinguished 39 year career. Fred served during WWII in the United States Marine Corps, he was stationed in the Pacific, including landing on Okinawa. Fred was a skilled craftsman and over his lifetime built and worked on numerous homes in Bergen County. He was able to fix and repair anything and was always willing to do so for a long list of grateful family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving are his devoted children, Donna Peters and her husband Rick, Valerie Dryka and her husband Ron, Nadine Mulvey and her husband Tom, and Frederick J. Mabie and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and Donald Mabie, his 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Fred was pre-deceased by his brothers John Edward Mabie and Ken Mabie and his sister Gloria Mabie Durkin.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 7th at the Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, NJ. Arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff
