- Mrs Margaret L. Maybee, 41, died at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Pekin Public Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Christian church, The Rev C. E. Francisco officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Mrs Maybee was born Oct 4, 1906 in Tazewell county, a daughter of Charles and Caroline Bohn Hilst. She was married to Alfred Maybe Dec 12, 1924 in Pekin.
Surviving are husband; parents; one daughter, Miss Doris, and one son, Stanley, both of Pekin; one brother Rudolph of Pekin; four sisters, Mrs Vera Roy of Wood River, Mrs Mildred Campbell of Warsaw, Mrs Wilma Kaebel and Miss Agnes of St. Louis, Mo.

- Stanley E. "Stan" Mabee, 81, of Crestline, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
Stan was born in Pekin, Illinois on October 15, 1932 to the late Alfard E. and Marguerite L. (Hilst) Mabee. He married Eileen Ort on October 30, 1953 and she survives him.
Stan came to Crestline from Lexington in 1975. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. Stan graduated from the Potomac State College in Keyser, West Virginia, and West Virginia University, Morgantown West Virginia. He obtained his Master's Degree in Mathematics at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He received his Certification in Administration from The Ohio State University, Columbus. Stan loved to teach and taught in the Lexington School System for 17 years. He came to Crestline Schools as Principal and held that position for several years before becoming Superintendent until his retirement in 1987. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, Crestline, and the Galion Lodge #414 of the Free and Accepted Mason. Stan was proud of his faith in God and his family. While raising his children, he was a Boy Scout Leader and a Key Club Advisor. Stan loved to sail his boat on Lake Erie, departing from Battery Park, Sandusky.
He is survived by: his son, William Mabee, Crestline, his two daughters, Diane and Larry Newberry, Morrow, Susan Mabee and Bob Ivancso, Napoleon, his seven grandchildren, Ellen Bee and Floyd Yarnell, Naples, Florida, Captain Michael and Susi DeMichiei, U.S. Army, stationed in Spring Lake, North Carolina, Mariel and Kevin Perkins, San Salvador, El Salvador, Lt. Stanley Alexander and Jodi Mabee, U.S. Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, Erica Newberry, Cincinnati, Alison Joy Mabee, Tallahassee, Florida, Second Lt. Matthew and Mary DeMichiei, U.S. Air Force, stationed in England, six great-grandchildren; Bailey Yarnell, Zachary Yarnell, Warren Yarnell, Damien DeMichiei, Noah Perkins, and Autumn Mabee, and his sister, Doris Stewart, Pekin, Illinois. He is also survived by his faithful companion "Tiny", his Min-Pin.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Alfard E. Mabee
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline
