- Bernice Mabee, 93, of Miller, South Dakota died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller.
Bernice Molitor was born Aug. 5, 1909, at Watford City, N.D., to George and Mary (Rochow) Molitor. She grew up and attended school at Watford City.
In 1929 she moved to South Dakota where she worked for her aunt and uncle, Otto and Elizabeth Rochow at Cottonwood Lake Pavilion.
She married Adolph Mast in 1931 at Redfield. They lived and farmed for many years in Burdette Township. He died in 1975.
She spent her winters in Arizona, where she met Dr. O. J. Mabee, who she married in 1979. They lived in Mitchell until her second husband died in 1995. She moved to Miller in 1997.
She was a member of the Hand County Extension Club for many years, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Miller.
She is survived by two brothers, Gordon Molitor of St. Lawrence, and Morris (Mary) Molitor of Boulder, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, three brothers, George, Lawrence and Leo Molitor, and a sister, Yvonne Opal Molitor.

- Dr Oscar J Mabee, 97, died Friday, Aug 11, 1995 in Brady Memorial Home, Mitchell
Dr Mabee was born May 25, 1898, in New Providence, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War I. In 1925, he graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City with his medical degree, specializing in eye, ear, nose, and throat.
He married Hilda Faris on Dec 25, 1925, in New Providence.
They moved to Mitchell that year, and he practiced with his brother Don for a number of years. In 1962 he opened the Mabee Eye Clinic with his son, Judd.
His wife died April 5, 1976. He married Bernice Molitor on Jan 20, 1979 in Hand County
He retired in 1980.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Shrine, and American Legion. He served as president of the South Dakota Medical Association in 1941. He served on the trustees board at Dakota Wesleyan University and the board at the Mitchell National Bank.
He raised purebred cattle and was a pilot and Federal Aviation Administration medical examiner.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two children, Judson of Mitchell and Joan Funk of Denver, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be Tuesday in First United Methodist Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell.
