- Robert E "Skip" Mabee, of Bluffton, Ind, and formerly of St Petersburg, died Wednesday (June 12, 1996) at home. He was born in Pekin, Ill, and worked at Internal Design Services, St Petersburg. Survivors include his wife, Gloria L.; two sons, Robert Mabee, U S Navy, Japan, and Russell Thompson, Texas; three daughters, Bonita Poland, Fort Wayne, Ind, Donita Stewart, Texas, and Shannon Mabee, Baltimore; his father, Robert Mabee, Fort Wayne; two brothers, Tony, California, and Louis, Fort Wayne; a sister Karen Mabee, Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren. - Louis F. "Lou" Mabee, 67, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, at New Haven Care & Rehabilitation in New Haven. Born in Pekin, Ill., he attended City College in San Diego and Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne. He was an Operator for storm water maintenance with the City of Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church; Masonic Lodge, New Haven; Civil War Roundtable, Fort Wayne Chapter; North Side Skirmish Team, Dundee, Mich. Chapter; D-Co. 5th Calvary, Fort Wayne Chapter and American Legion Post 499. Surviving are his wife, Judith Mabee of New Haven; sons, Scott A. Mabee of Auburn, Michael (Joslynn) Mabee of Fort Wayne and David L. Mabee of New Haven; brother, Anthony (Shirley) Mabee of LaMesa, Calif.; sister, Karen L. Mabee of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren. Service is 2 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
