- The death of Earl Mabee of Mt Harris took place Monday night. For several years the Mabee family lived in Hayden and Earl had charge of the Variety Shop. He was a jovial, good natured, bright young man. He had considerable musical ability and often entertained at the Variety Shop by his playing and singing just because he loved music. About six months ago he moved to Mt Harris and was engaged in the carpenter trade and was doing well. His death was caused from pneumonia proceeded by the flu. He came to Routt county from South Dakota and was a traveling man for several years. His brother Ralph, who came to Hayden with Earl died in the government aviation service thus both young men are gone. Earl left a wife and two little girls the oldest being six years of age.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Moose lodges and the latter had charge of the funeral service. The Hayden Odd Fellows were represented at the burial service. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful
