- Col. Carroll S. Mabie passed away Friday, October 15, 1999, at the age of 83.
He was a 35 year veteran of the U. S. Air Force. "Cris" was born on October 10, 1916, in Leonia, New Jersey was preceded in death by his wife, Madaline.
Col. Mabie is survived by three sons, Gary (Janelle) Mabie of Houston, David (Linda) Mabie of Rockport, and Cris (Diane) Mabie of Lafayette, Louisiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial survice will be held on Sunday, October 17, 1999 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Rockport Chapel. Reverend Walter Knight will officiate.

- Memorial services honoring the life of Chris Evans Mabie, age 72, will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm in Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Downtown, 330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, LA 70506, who passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at his residence in Lafayette. Pastor Linton Broussard of The Bayou Church will conduct the memorial services. Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Dianne Bean Mabie; four sons, Danny Mabie and his wife, Kim of Buda, TX, Todd Mabie and his wife, Amy of Lancaster, TX, Brandon Taylor and his wife, April of Big Sandy, TX, Kyle Mabie of Lafayette; two brothers, Gary J. Mabie and his wife, Janelle of Aurora, CO, and David W. Mabie and his wife, Linda of Rockport, TX; five grandchildren, Bethany Mabie, Zoe Mabie, Cora Mabie, Madeline Mabie and Colin Taylor; and his dog and head of household, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Stanley "Colonel" Mabie and the former Madeleine Rena Voris; and a close friend, that was like a brother to him, Donald "Duck" Dupuis. Chris was a native of Austin, TX and a resident of Lafayette for many years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Chris loved the outdoors. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Shooting, Automobiles, Golfing, swimming, and wildlife observation. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. He was a member of the Safari Club and the North American Hunting Club. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Mabie, Todd Mabie, Brandon Taylor, Kyle Mabie, Robert Guillory, Josh Hebert, and Chris Canezaro. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Downtown location on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 12:00 pm until time of services. Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Chris Mabie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Mabie family to the doctors, nurses and staff of Compassus Home & Palliative Care, especially Raquel and Dr. Saccaro and his staff for their compassionate care for Chris.
