- Mrs Jerusha Sears, wife of Francis Sears, died at her residence on River Road, near Alden's brick yard, yesterday of heart disease. She leaves a husband and two sons, Andrew, who keeps a grocery store in Rutherford, and Francis W, employed as a foreman in Alden's brick yard. The funeral will be tomorrow. Interment at Hackensack.

- Francis Sears died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Lepold Rosenberger in Franklin street, Hackensack. He was in his 70th year and had been ailing for some time.
Mr Sears was one of the pioneers of brickmaking in this section, he, with Prof. Hamilton, who taught the First District school for many years, under the firm name of Sears & Hamilton, having built one of the first brick yards.
Deceased was not very successful and dropped out of the local brick making industry.
The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter yesterday afternoon with the Rev H B Leech officiating.
