- Hazel Mabee Pierce, 41 daughter of Hester A. Mabee, and the late William P. MacCornal of 109 First street died in Peekskill Hospital on Tuesday evening shortly after 6 from a heart attack. Mrs Pierce had been in New York on Monday and in the early evening was returning to her home when she became ill on a train. Her conditions was recognized as serious and at Peekskill the train was met by the ambulance, which removed her to the hospital. Arriving at the hospital her condition gradually grew weaker. Dr William H Sweet Jr and other physicians attended her.
Mrs. Pierce is well known having been affiliated with numerous organizations. She has been an office employee of the Philip Kempler Co. for some time past. She was a member of the Hudson River Chapter 362, Order of Eastern Star, The Quassaick Chapter Daughters of American Revolution Jaunita Court of the Amaranth, The Business and Professionals Girls Club of the YWCA, Trinity Methodist Episcopal church and numerous others. She has long been interested in club work, and was an officer in the Woman's City Club when it was organized several years ago.
Besides her mother, two children survive, a son George and one daughter Betty. A daughter Hester died a few years ago.
Funeral services will be held from her late home on Friday afternoon, The interment will be in the family plot in Warwick.
