  	On Saturday evening, Oct. 16, as Mrs. Pellum Mabee, of Nixon, and her daughter Nellie, and the hired man named George Smith, were returning home from the Walsh fair in a buggy, when near the residence of Mr. James Mabee the rig was run into by another vehicle and smashed and the three occupants thrown into the road and badly injured. They were taken to Dr. Kennedy's office in Vittoria, by a Mr. Broughner, and their injuries attended to. Mrs. Mabee's arm was broken and her back hurt; Miss Nellie's arm was broken, and old Mr. Smith was seriously hurt in various ways, and his son, Mr. Joseph Smith G. T. R. brakeman, Port Dover, was sent for. Mrs Mabee and her daughter were removed to their home in Nixon. It is said that the parties who drove into them were strangers and were driving in a furious and reckless manner.
