  	Although Mindert was arrested as a Loyalist with his father, Pieter in 1779 and jailed at Poughkeepsie for a short time, his further involvement, if any, as a Loyalist is not recorded.

  	On May 2, 1791, his father conveyed to him for a consideration of 70 pounds, a tract of 20.60 acres along the north side of Prospect Avenue, in what is now Park Ridge, which probably included the 3 acres formerly owned by Abraham. this was the most easterly part of the father's land to the east of his homestead. Mindert made his home here, now #285 Prospect Avenue, in the original part of the house. He sold the property to Lawrence Lockwood in 1813 and removed to Upper Preakness with his family, where he purchased the farm of John E. Merselis.
