- John Allen Carter, 74, of Clearfield RD1, died this morning in the Clearfield Hospital following a long illness.
Mr Carter was born in Lawrence Township July 9, 1883, a son of John T and Alvira (Mabie) Carter, both of whom are deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Rebecca Carter and the following children: Edward L, John C, Albert G, Alice Carter and Mrs Ruth Phillips, all of Clearfield; Mrs Nancy Pratt, Johnsonburg; and Mrs Nettie Fleck, Reading.
He also leaves 14 grandchildren, one great grand child and a brother and two sisters: Mrs Frank Fulton, Mrs Tom Thomas and George Carter, all of Clearfield.
Three children: Gladys Elvira and Charles Burton and Mrs Sara Lippert all preceded him in death.
