- Orphaned at age 10, she and her two sisters were raised by an aunt and uncle in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Smith College in 1939. She served with the Red Cross in the European Theatre during WWII and in the Korean War. She moved to Tucson in 1951 and for many years owned and managed the Desert Lingerie Shop in Country Club Plaza. She was survived by two sisters, Joan Walmsley Galloway of Tucson, AZ, and Cynthia Crittenden Walmsley of Jacksonville, IL; two nephews; and two nieces.
