- Melissa Ann Moore, age 52, of Mecca, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 15, 2021, at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Melissa was born Nov. 22, 1968, to the late Thomas A. Harakal and Betty Ann Maybee Loyd.
Melissa worked at Kraftmaid in Middlefield for many years.
Melissa will be remembered as a person of spirit. She was a fierce friend, always willing to be there. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and gardening. She was easy to talk to and enjoyed talking to anyone. She loved flowers, all types of music and loved to get her toes in the sand. She was a friend of Bill's.
Family was paramount to Melissa, she absolutely loved her kids and grandkids; Melissa helped raise her grandchildren, Joshlynn Wright and McKenna Muir.
Besides her father, Melissa was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jim Loyd; her mother-in-law, Molly Moore; and her uncle, Jess Maybee.
Melissa is survived by her mother, Betty Maybee Loyd; her husband, Rick Moore; her daughters, Rebecca Garrett and Ashley Coonce; three stepchildren, Amanda Lambert, Angela Ague and Seth Moore; eight grandchildren; siblings, Stacey Takash, Thomas Harakal, Matt Harakal and Andy Harakal; and her nephews, Johnny Takash and Joseph Pratschler.
Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at the Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St., Cortland.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., in Sharon, Pa. Interment will be in Hartford Cemetery, Hartford.

HARTFORD, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Matthew Harakal, age 53 of Paoli, Indiana, formerly of Hartford, Ohio, passed on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Born June 16, 1970 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Harakal and Betty (Maybee) Loyd. His mother survives in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Matthew attended Hartford/Badger Schools. He went on to get his culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University (Miami, Florida) in 1991.
Matthew loved and excelled at cooking, he was the former owner and executive chef of 21 North Eatery and Cellar, in Martinsville, Indiana and continued his culinary talents at the Che Bello Restaurant in Bloomington, Indiana.
In addition to cooking and food, Matthew loved music, spending time with his family and fur babies.
Matthew is survived by his “Anam Cara”, Tina Tate; a sister, Stacey Takash; a brother, Thomas Harakal; two nieces, Rebecca Garrett and Ashley Coonce; two nephews, Joseph (Megan) Pratchler and John Takash; great-nieces and nephews, Joshlynn, McKenna; his Godchildren, Ozzie and Junior; his blended Loyd family and caring aunts, uncles and cousins.
