- Edward H. Bishop, a resident of Port Ewen for the last 46 years, died at his home in Port Ewen at an early hour this morning. He had been in poor health since July and for the last three weeks he had been confined to his bed. He had been a faithful employee of the Cornell Steamboat Co. for over 60 years and for 41 years was chief engineer of the tug Hercules of the Cornell line. He was the youngest son of the late Samuel H. and Jane Lazere Post Bishop and was born in Kingston November 15, 1861. He was s good neighbor and will be missed by a host of friends. He was an active member of the Port Ewen Methodist Church and a member of Garfield Lodge. No 422, I O. O. F. He was married on May 14, 1866. to Lucie H. Mabie who survives him with one daughter. Mollie F. Bishop, also several nieces and nephews. Funeral at his home in Port Ewen Sunday at 2 p m with interment in the Port Ewen cemetery.
