  Reasoning	The Maybee Society believes that the Jan Pieter Mebie who married Dorothy Pickert is the baseborn son of Anna Peek and, although there is no direct proof, it is probable that the illegitimate father of this child was Pieter Mabee (1686- a 1768), son of Jan Pieterese Mabee (1754-1725). Considering the patronymic The Peeks and the Mabees lived on adjoining farms. The following entry was in the baptism's of RDC Schenectady: "10/9/1708, Jan Pieter , parents: no father named and Anna Peek; Witnesses: Capt. Johannes Glen, Lt. Philip Schuyler & Jacomyntje van Dyk. Jan had a son Lewis, who received land from his uncle Lewis Clement, who was also a child of Anna Peek. Jacobus Peek Sr and his wife Elisabeth were sponsors at Jan's son, Jacob's baptism.
