- Maj. Charles B. Cotten, father of Mrs. William C. Prescott, of this place, died at his residence, 169 West, 18th street, New York, at an early hour Friday morning, dropsy being the immediate cause of death. Maj. Cotten was in the 69th year of his age at the time of his death and was a frequent visitor here. In addition the daughter, Maj. Cotten leaves surviving a wife, Mrs. Charlotte Cotten. The remains arrived at this place Friday evening and the funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. W.C. Prescott, Monday at 2 p.m. interment in Oak Hill Cemetery
