  Note	William and Alvira were farmers and spent most of their life in Crawford Co. William used to tell of remembering the ride in the wagon when his parents left their home in New York and came to Wisconsin. William was about 7 years old at that time. My mother said he was a very smart man when it came to remembering dates and ages. He could remember all his children's birthdates and how old they were and even his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also used to count to his children in Dutch (or perhaps Deutsch). He was always a man of good humor and liked to tell his jokes.
  Note	After Nellie died her two children were raised by her parents William and Alvira Kast Maybee.
