- Funeral Services will be conducted tomorrow at Richmond, Wa., for Eli Delbert Maybee, internationally known artist and former resident of Syracuse, who died yesterday in Daytona Beach, Fla,
Maybee who had been in ill health for an extended period moved to Daytona Beach 20 years ago. He spent his early life in Syracuse and was graduated in 1904 from Syracuse University.
Winner of the Hiram Gee art scholarship, which entitles a student to two years study abroad, he won a medal in 1906 for an exhibit in a Paris solon. It was one of many awards he received for his work.
He was recognized in later years as a photographer, many of his pictures of outstanding Anericans appeared in leading magazines.
Surviving is his wife, Mrs Metta M. Maybee
