- Osage, Ia – Ray Mabie, 47, connected with the business life of Osage for the last 25 years and a clerk in the Little Gem grocery on Main Street for the last 15 years, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday afternoon at his home here
He was born in La Cross, Wis. In April 1894, and married Clara Rischmann 26 years ago.
Surviving are his widow; his aged father, Fred Mabie, Cedar Falls, two brothers, Edward Mabie, head of speech department at University of Iowa, Iowa City, and Rolland, Milwaukee, Wis., and a sister, Mrs Ethel Fark, also of Milwaukee.

- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church in charge of the Rev. Stiles Lessly for Ray Mabie, 47, who died suddenly at his home Saturday afternoon of heart disease.
Born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, he came to Osage as a young man. On April 4, 1915, he was married to Clara Richsmann and they have lived in Osage. For the past 10 years Mr. Mabie had a position at the Little Gem Grocery store.
He became a member of the Congregational church in 1915 and had been a member of Osage Lodge A.F. and A. N. since May 1932. He also belonged to the Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are his wife, his father, Fred Mabie of Cedar Falls; two brothers; Edward of Iowa City; and Rolland of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a sister; Mrs. Philip Falk of Madison, Wisconsin
Burial with full Masonic rites was in the Osage Cemetery.

- Iowa City, Iowa – Prof. E. C. Mabie, 63, head of the department of speech and dramatic arts at the University of Iowa, died of a heart attack at his home here Thursday night.
Prof. Mabie was recognized as one of the foremost contributors to the community theater movement in the United States and a leader in educational theater work.
He was born Oct 27, 1892 at La Cross, Wis. And received most of his formal education at Dartmouth University. Prof. Mabie is survived by his widow and one daughter.
