- Rolland W. Mabie found peace on May 22, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn. Loving father of David (Cindy), Debra (Dennis) Horne, Daniel (Heather), Dean (Renee) and Douglas (Jennifer). Cherished grandpa of Joshua (Kerstin), Nathan (Lynn), Ashley (Micah), Ryan (Jacquelyn), Kristin (Matthew), Lindsey (Jeremy), Rebecca (Kyle), Dani, Emily, Hannah, Matthew, Joshua, Calvin, Kyle, Andrea, Aniket, Misha Marilyn and Uwe. Special great grandpa of Madyson, Kaleigh, Abygail, Ingrid, Molly, Evelyn, Peter, Lukas, Lewis, Jack, Eleanor, Margot, Casey, Emma, Charlie and Landon. Preceded in death by his parents Rolland F. and Edna Mabie and his sister Margaret Mabie. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Funeral Home from 4 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 6:30 PM. Private burial at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Lutheran Home Foundation appreciated. Grandpa Rollie loved fishing, camping and spending time in the natural beauty of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with his faithful golden retriever, "Trapper". He was a lifelong Wisconsin sports fan, and a die-hard fan of the Brewers and Packers. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Rollie served in the US Army as a Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company until 1985, and spent his retirement years traveling the country with Grandma Marilyn and Trapper in their Vanagon camper van. He loved reading, blackjack, cribbage, sing-alongs and his daily crossword puzzle. Above all else, he cherished every minute he spent with his family. He was truly one of a kind and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jessica and the staff at Harwood Place and The Lutheran Home, as well as Mary O'Connell for the loving care given to Rollie over the years
