- Gouverneur - Mrs. Arvilla Maybee, 66, resident of McKean St., of this village died Monday at her home. She had been ill for more than a year. She was born in Hailesboro, June 17, 1884, daughter of Peter and Rosina Sweet Boscoe. She married Judson Maybee in 1901. she lived in Emeryville and came to Gouveneur 30 years ago. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Gouveneur Grange, Rebekah Lodge, D.U.V. and the Mothers club.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Bower of Theresa , Harold of Syracuse, Everett and Leon of Govueneur. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2pm from Burr and Green funeral home on Park st. The Rev. Thomas. Pastor of First Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be made in Hailesboro

- Harold J. Maybee, 36, died Tuesday morning about 10:30 in Onondaga General hospital, Syracuse, after a short illness. He was found unconscious in his room, 132 John street, Syracuse, Monday morning by his landlady and removed to the hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Burr and Green funeral home in Gouverneur with Rev. Harold L. Thomas, pastor of the Gouverneur Methodist church , officiating. Burial will be in Hailesboro cemetery.
Mr. Maybee was born in Fowler, March 27, 1913, a son of Judson and Arvilla Boscoe Maybee He lived most of her early life in Gouvemeur and attended schools there. He was an employe of the International Paper company and also worked in Massena before going to Syracuse about six years ago. He was a stationary engineer at St. Joseph's hospital in Syracuse. Surviving are his three brothers, Bower and Everett Maybee of Theresa, and Leon Maybee of William street, Gouverneur, and two nieces

- Mrs Lillian Maybee, 35, of 70 William St., [Gouverneur], died Sunday at Edward John Noble Hospital where she had been a patient about four weeks.
Mrs Maybee was born in Liverpool, England, July 5 1914, daughter of James and Margaret Fraser Copple. She came to the United States in 1923 and lived in Talcville until 1931, On Nov 29, 1931 she was married to Harold (sic) [should be Leon] Maybee of Gouverneur. She was a member of the Una Rebekah Lodge
Surviving, besides her husband are her mother, Mrs Margaret Melrose, three sisters, Mrs Martin Hassett, Ms Margaret Mullen and Mrs Eroile Abbott of Gouverneur, and a half-brother, Hubert Melrose of Washington, D. C.
Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 P.M. from the Burr & Green funeral home in Park St., with the Rev. Harold A. Thomas, pastor of First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hailesboro Cemetery

- Everett Burton Maybee, 47, former talc miner and a resident of the village (Gouverneur), died Wednesday night from shot gun wounds in the abdomen, according to state police.
Maybee was found in his car one mile north of Gouverneur by Glenn Streeter, Rock Island road farmer
A verdict of suicide was given by St Lawrence County Coroner Dr. E. A. Dodds, Edwards. Maybee had been suffering more than ten years with silocosis.
Surviving are his father and two brothers, Bower M. Maybee, Theresa and Leon Maybee, Gouverneur. He was a member of the V Citizens Club.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 P.M. at the Burr-Green Funeral Home. The Rev. W. C. Wood, pastor of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hallsboro Cemetery
