- May Gilmour Safford, wife of Mervin Safford, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs David Gilmour, Thursday morning, April 16, after an illness covering many months.
Mrs. Safford was born May 8, 1892, and had always lived here. She was actively connected with the -work in the Presbyterian church, a member of the choir and Bible class, until incapacitated by illness. She was- also a member of the Eastern Star chapter.
She is survived by her husband, her parents and three brothers, William of Rochester, John and Furloo of this place. The funeral services were held from her late home, 'Sunday afternoon at 1. The Eastern Star attending in a body. Rev. George F. Walker, of the Presbyterian church, officiating.
Interment was made in the Union cemetery.

- The many friends here were saddened to learn of the death of May Gilmour-Staftord last Thursday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Gilmour, at Dekalb Junction. She was a lovable young lady, a bride of two weeks, a precious sister and daughter. She will be sadly missed.
