- Mr. and Mrs. Stephen U. Mabee of Bolt road, Glenville, held open house Wednesday in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. Two nieces, Mrs. Wanda Mabee and Mrs. Thomas Irwin, were hostesses for the open house.
Approximately 100 relatives and friends attended. - Mr. and Mrs. Mabee were married March 6, 1907, by Rev Robert Rogers of the Glenville Reformed Church. Mrs. Mabee is the former Grace Gifford and was born in Glenville. Mr. Mabee was born in Albany county and worked as a market gardener for about 40 years.
Mrs. Mabee operates a poultry business in the Scotia area. The couple are members of the Glenville Center Methodist Church and of Glenridge Grange. Mrs. Mabee is also a member of the WSCS and of the "What-So-Ever" group of the church

- A service was held for Mrs. Grace Mabee, Holt Road, who died Thursday at home. Born in West Glenville, Mrs. Mabee attended two one-room schools, District 16 in West Glenville and Dist. 12 in East Glenvlle, graduating from the ninth grade. Working from her home, she made both men's and women's gloves for the former Myers Glove co., in (Johnstown?). Mrs. Mabee also made stitching on the covers on baseballs in Schenectady. From the family farm, she delivered fruits, vegetables, chickens and other goods by horse and buggy to merchants. Mrs. Mabee attended and taught Sunday School in West Glenville. After marriage she joined the Center Glenville Methodist Church where she was a member for 83 years. For many years Mrs. Mabee served as church secretary. A 63 year member of the Grange, Mrs. Mabee in 1927 helped organize the Charlton Farmers Grange. After that she helped the West Glenville and ? Granges. Mrs. Mabee served as chaplain of the Glenridge Grange for 20 years.
