- LCDR Dan Cruise Maybee, USN (Ret.), 76, passed away peacefully in his home on 23 July. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol; children Dana (James) Cunningham, Pamela (Marc) Snyder, CDR Sean (Yvette) Maybee; grandchildren, Jake, William, Jamie, Colin, Arden and Bennett; and sister Linda Lemke.
Dan was a native of South Haven, Mich., and a naval aviator from 1955-1977. Following his Naval career, he continued working in the aerospace industry and lived for 30 years in Smithtown, N.Y. Upon retiring to St. Augustine, Fla., he became actively involved in the community through the Brotherhood of St. Andrew at Trinity Parish.
Always generous with his time, his thoughts and his sense of humor, Dan was the life of the party and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Parish at 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please direct your generosity to your local Food Bank or Food Pantry.Craig Funeral Home Crematory and Memorial Park assisted the family.
