- Mrs Ruth Margaret Mabey, 41, of 14 Weald Road, widow of Frank E. Mabey who was killed in Korea Sept 15, 1950, died yesterday at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. She was born in Beverly, Mass Oct 5, 1920. Survivors include her father and three sons, Frank E. Jr, of East Moodus, Conn, James R. and Richard B, both of Portsmouth; a daughter, Barbara Jean, and three grandchildren.

- Barbara J. Stevens, 55, of 20 Reagan Drive died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1947, in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Ruth (McCullen) Mabey Sr. of Portsmouth. She had resided in this area since 1967 and worked for many years at Davidson Rubber Co. in Farmington. Most recently, she worked at Palmer-Chouinard Co. She was a member of the cancer support group at Frisbie Hospital. She was the wife of Douglas Stevens. In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Katie; a son, Jeffrey; her granddaughter, Emerson; brothers, Frank Mabey and his wife Dawn of Colchester, Conn., James Mabey and his wife Geneve of Bull Head City, Ariz., and Richard Mabey and his wife Patricia of York, Maine; stepchildren, Alan and Jimmy; five stepgrandchildren, Codi, Willy, Chris, Jamin and Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester, with the Rev. William Shafer officiating. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery, Franklin Street, Rochester.
