- Bertha Mabie, 61, R. 1, Ligonier, died today in Goshen Hospital. Born Feb. 26, 1916 in Noble County, she was the daughter of William Edward and Mary (McFarren) Stoner. She married Gerald Mabie May 10, 1934 in Noble County. She was a lifetime Ligonier area and Noble County resident and was a member of the Ligonier Church of Christ. Survivors include the husband; the father of Ligonier; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Frances) Jones, R. 1, Ligonier, and Mrs. Leonard (Phyllis) Wilsey, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one son, Ronald, Wawaka; one brother, Harold, Sun City, Ariz.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Saturday in Ulrey Funeral Home, Ligonier. Burial, Sparta Cemetery

- Ronald L. Mabie, 40, son of Gerald Mabie, North Webster, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the H.C.A Medical Center in Florida. He had been in failing health five months. Born in Wolf Lake on Sept. 28, 1946, he was the son of Gerald and Bertha (Stoner) Mabie. On Aug 10, 1985 he was married to Linda McKibbin, who survives. A member of the Ligonier Church of Christ, Mabie had moved to 252 Seminole Trail, Crestview, Fla. a year ago from Topeka, Ind. He was a heavy equipment operator for Parker Mechanical in Crestview. In addition to his wife, Linda Mabie, other survivors include his father and step mother, Gerald and Dorothy Mabie, North Webster; two sons, Michael and Christopher Mabie and a daughter, Michelle Mabie, all of Wawaka, Ind.; two stepsons, Leo Harnish, Millersburg, Ind and Brian Harnish, Crestview; two sisters, Phyllis Wilsey, Crestview and Frances Jones, Ligonier. Services at 11 a.m. Monday wull be at the Ligonier Church of Christ, with the Rev. Melvin Harrell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sparta cemetery, Kimmell. Friends may call in the Ulery-Renner funeral Home, Ligonier, from 6-9 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday from 3-9 p.m.
