- George W. Mabie, 78, Upper Red Hook, died this morning in Rhinebeck. Born in Rhinecliff March 29, 1890, son of Monroe & Gertrude Chruchill Mabie. Survived by wife Hazel Brizzie; sons Woodrow, Belmont; Elmer & William both Red Hook; Robert & Roydon, both Elizaville; 2 daus, Mildred Scism, Red Hook, and Marion Dodge, Germantown; 2 half bros, Earl Day, East Park, and Dorall Mann, Maine; half sister Anna Spring, Staatsburg; 16 grandchildren.

- Elmer V. Mabie, 64, of 31 Linden Ave., Red Hook, died Jan. 4 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck. Mr. Mabie was a retired carpenter with Local 203, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Mabie was born in Red Hook on Sept. 21, 1918, the son of George and Hazel Brizzie Mabie. He was a member of the Red Hook- Rhinebeck Elks Lodge no. 2022, and, served with the Army 503rd Parachute Infantry during World War II. He was married to the former Olga Sopok, who survives.
In addition to his mother in Germantown and his wife, Mr. Mabie is survived by two sons, Elmer D. Mabie of Chestertown and Thomas S. Mabie of Red Hook; four brothers, Woodrow Mabie, Robert Mabie, and Royden Mabie, all of Elizaville and William Mabie of Germantown; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Dodge of Pine Plains and Mrs. Mildred Seism of Red Hook; an aunt and several nieces, nephews ans cousins.
The Red Hook-Rhinebeck Elks Lodge had a service Jan. 7. ; Services were Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Hedrick officiating. Burial will be in the West Taghkanic Cemetery

- Mildred Seism, 72, formerly of Tivoli, died May 5, at the-Ferndiff Nursing.Home in Rhinebeck.
Mrs. Seism was born in Red Hook Jan. 26, 1915, to George and Hazel Brizzle Mabie.
She was married to Walter Seism, who survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Walter C. Seism and Michael K. Seism, both of Red Hook, Clifford A. Seism of Rhinebeck and Chester W. Seism of Hudson; three daughters, Gladys Wofford.. of Ocala, Fla., Dorothy Cole of Poughkeepsie and Ethel Chizotti of Hudson; four brothers, Woodrow Mabie, Robert Mabie and Royden Mabie, all of Elizaville.and William Mabie of Germantown; a sister. Marion Dodge of Pine Plains; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Burnett, Rockefeller & Hand Funeral Home, Red Hook.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Ferncliff Nursing Home.

- Hazel Mabie, 96, a longtime resident, died Nov. 12. 1992 at the Eden Park Nursing Home in Hudson.
A Germantown resident for the past 10 years and previously of Upper Red Hook. .Mrs, Mabie and het husband owned and operated their family farm in Elizaville until the mid 1970s
She attended the Elizaville Methodist Church.
Born on Feb. 7, 1896 in Jackson Comers. Columbia County. she was the daughter of Virgil and Minnie Tripp Brizzie.
Her husband, George W. Mabie, died Nov. 10, 1968
Mrs Mabie is survived by four sons, Woodrow of Elizaville. William of Gerrnantown, Robert of Elizaville and Royden Mabie of Pine Plains; 18 grandchildren: and several great grandchildren and several great. grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Elmer Mabie and three daughters. .Margaret and Eleanor Mabie and Mildred Scism.
Arrangements were made by the Burnett, Rockefeller & Hand Funeral Home, 30 South Broadway. Red Hook.
Services were held at the funeral home with the Rev. Walter Carpenter officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Red Hook.

- Woodrow W. Mabie, 81, a resident of Elizaville, died May3,1994 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Mr. Mabie worked his family's farm in Elizaville until 1954 when he moved to Belmont He owned and operated a farm there until his retirement in 1975.
Born March 4, 1913, in Red Hook, he was the son of George and Hazel Brizzee Mabie.
On Feb. 27,1938, in Livingston, he married the former Evalina Bixby, who survives at home.
He is also survived by three brothers, William Mabie of Germantown, Robert Mabie of Elizaville and Royden Mabie of Pine Plains; a sister, Marion Dodge of Pine Plains; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by the Burnett, Rockefeller and Hand Funeral Home, 30 S. Broadway, Red Hook. Services were held at the funeral home. The Rev. Walter Carpenter officiated. Burial was in St Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook

- Marion L. Dodge, 63. a 20-year area resident, died July 12, 1996, at her home. She was the co-owner of C. W. Bostwick Insurance since 1987. Mrs. Dodge also worked for Stissing Insurance Co. in Pine Plains for 20 years. She was awarded the Republican Columbia County Abraham Lincoln Award in 1971, named Hudson Business Professionals' Woman of the Year in 1975 and Insurance Women of the Hudson Valley's Woman of the Year in 1996.
Mrs. Dodge began the Pine Plains Christmas Fund in 1985, was a charter member of the Pine Plains Business Association and Hudson Valley Insurance and a member of the Business Professional Women's Club. She attended Albany University.
Born in Nevis on Jan. 27, 1933, she was a daughter of George and Hazel Brizzie Mabie.
Mrs. Dodge is survived by a daughter, Linda Coons of Elizaville; a son, Gary Dodge of Elizaville; three brothers, Roy Mabie of Pine Plains, Robert Mabie of Elizaville and William Mabie of Germantown; and three grandchildren.
Three sisters, Mildred Seism, Eleanor and Margaret Mabie, and two brothers, Elmer and Woodrow Mabie, died previously.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, at the. United Methodist Church in Pine Plains. The Rev. Alfred Liberatore will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains. Arrangements were made by the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, S. Main Street. Pine Plains

- Royden C. Mabie, 70, of Pine Plains, died Nov. 16, 2000 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Conn.
Mr. Mabie was the maintenance supervisor for the Clermont State Park He was born in Livingston on Jan. 17, 1930, the son of the late George and Hazel Brizzie Mabie.
He was twice past master of Widow's Son Lodge No. 335 in Livingston; member of the Elizaville Fire Co.; member of Tri-Mountain Squares in Pine Plains; member of Mainstream Square. Dancers in Red Hook; trustee of the United Methodist Church; and a member of the Ellsworth J. Ham Memorial Blood Bank. He enjoyed horseshoes and was on the travel club at the mobile home park in Florida.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Mabie, and four sisters, Eleanor and Margaret Mabie, Mildred Seism and Marion L. Dodge.
He married Lorraine Mabie on May 12,1984 at United Methodist Church. She survives at home.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Mabie of Pine Plains; two step-daughters, Margo Jackson of Patterson and Lorrie Lyn of Aurora Colo.; two stepsons, Robert Blackie of Folsom, Calif, and James Blackie of Florida; two brothers, William Mabie of Germantown and Robert Mabie of Elizaville; and six step-grandchildren
The Masons conducted a ceremony at the funeral home. Funeral services were from the United Methodist Church, Pine Plains with the Rev. Juanita Middlebrook officiating. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Red Hook. Arrangements were by the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, S. Main St., Pine Plains. - Evalena M. Mabie, 87, of Elizaville, died Nov. 4, 2001 at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
An area resident for many years, she previously resided in Western New York.
Born in Livingston on Nov. 22, 1913, she was the daughter of Worthy and Edna Coon Bixby.
Mrs. Mabie married Woodrow W. Mabie; he predeceased her on May 3, 1994.
She is survived by two brothers, William (Louise) Mabie of Germantown, and Robert (Alice) Mabie of Elizaville.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home, with the Rev. HyoungDock Yoo officiating.
Interment was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

- Lois J. Mabie 70 of Germantown died December 26, 2007 at North Woods Rehabilitation Center of Schenectady. Born May 8, 1937 in Brooklyn she was the daughter of the late: Clifton and Jennie (Bellone) Herberg.
Mrs. Mabie was a 1955 graduate of Hudson High School. She was a loving wife, mother and grand mother who spent many years babysitting for numerous families in the Columbia County area.
Surviving are her husband William Mabie, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: John Bathrick of Elizaville, David and Betsy Bathrick of Livingston, a daughter and son-in-law Lynne and Jim Palmieri of Germantown, Brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Judy Herberg of Elizaville, two nieces: Patty Herberg and Cindie Mannese, brother-in-law: Robert Mabie of Elizaville, nine grandchildren: Brendan, Ryan, Garry, Reilly, Hunter, and Ireland Bathrick, Collen Wagar and Emily and Lily Palmieri.
She was predeceased by grand son Griffin Bathrick.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home 209 Main St. Germantown.
Funeral services will be 10am Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Theodore Gerken officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery of Red Hook.
