oObit*29 October 1941  On 29 October 1941 at Helena, Montana, the obituary of Frank Mabee Cowan read: Havre, Oct. 28--Frank M. Cowan, 70, president of the Montana National Bank of Havre, died today shortly after being stricken with a heart attack while chatting with friends downtown.
Cowan, born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, came to Havre in 1892 and after working for the Great Northern railroad for a time, entered business. He became owner of extensive real estate holdings and a ranch operator. When the bank was organized in 1918, he was named president.
Survivors include his widow, two sons, Frank and James of Havre, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Tri of Great Falls and Mrs. Frank Franta of Havre. Cowan was a cousin of former state senator, W.T. Cowan of Box Elder.8 
Burial* He and Rebecca Agnes Cowan were buried at Calvary Cemetery, Havre, Hill County, Montana.9
