- Ruth Ann Mabie, 72, of Clinton, WI, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, WI. She was born June 8, 1941, in Harvard, IL, the daughter of Charles and Bernice (Peterson) Crout. Ruth Ann graduated from North Boone High School in 1959. She married Denis Mabie on Jan. 16, 1960, in the Capron Methodist Church, Capron, IL. Ruth Ann was the director of the Clinton Senior Center for over 20 years and most recently enjoyed being a crossing guard for the Clinton Schools. Ruth Ann loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch, harness racing, and listening to Elvis Presley. Ruth Ann was a fan of "I Love Lucy" and the Chicago Bears.
Survivors include her husband, Denis Mabie of Clinton, WI; five children: Ami Mabie of Clinton, WI, Troy (Karen) Mabie of Janesville, WI, Christian (Valerie) Mabie of Caledonia, IL, Jacqueline (Greg) Jeffers of Beloit, WI, and Rachel (Brock) Nelson of Joliet, IL; 14 grandchildren: Meghan, Kendra, Alec, Garrett, Clayton, Giannah, Brody, Ellyza, Bauer, David, Zachariah (Amber), Joshua (Leslie), Meaggan (Charles), and Brenden; one great-grandchild, Logan; mother, Bernice Crout of Capron, IL; four sisters: Carolyn (Kennley) Dalberg of Caledonia, IL, Nancy Lovesee, Judith Matthews, and Anita Crout, all of Capron, IL; one brother, "Butch" Charles Crout of Capron, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her father, Charles Crout; and son, Patrick James.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Ruth Ann's sister-in-law and life long friend, Nancy Schmidt. The family would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Aurora Lakeland Intensive Care Unit, and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic in Elkhorn, WI.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511, with Pastor David Fogderud officiating. Inurnment will be in Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, WI.
