oObit | 5 February 1959 | On 5 February 1959 at Saint Petersburg, Florida, the obituary of Elsie Mabee read: Elsie Mabee Dies; Was College Teacher Miss Elsie Mabee, 326 9th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, died yesterday in a St. Petersburg hospital. She was a former professor of educational philosophy. A native of Janesville, Ill., Miss Mabee came to St. Petersburg eight years ago. She was a graduate of State Normal University, Charleston, Ill., and took post-graduate work at the University of Colorado and the University of Chicago. She received her master's degree from Columbia University. She taught at Kent State University in Ohio, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, and! at a college in Jersey City, N.J. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Charleston, Ill. Surviving are a sister, Miss Mirtie Mabee of St. Petersburg with whom she lived, two aunts and several cousins.11,12 |
