He was pronounced dead of a heart attack on arrival at Marshall Oaklawn Hospital. It was reported he was under a physician's care for a heart condition and that he had not died of injuries suffered in the accident. The autopsy report was not available this morning Mabie was born in Flint, Ind, and had been a Coldwater resident since 1941, coming from Indiana. He formerly was employed as a cook by area restaurants, and at the time of his death was employed by the Carriage Inn Convalescent Center. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Coldwater Moose Lodge, and the American Legion and VFW posts. His wife the former Ruby Howell died in 19774. Surviving are his parents, Mr and Mrs Ralph Mabie of Coldwater and sisters, Mrs Izora Combs of Coldwater and Mrs Klyta Smith of Mason.5 |
