He was in his 70th year and had been ailing for some time. Mr Sears was one of the pioneers of brickmaking in this section, he, with Prof. Hamilton, who taught the First District school for many years, under the firm name of Sears & Hamilton, having built one of the first brick yards. Deceased was not very successful and dropped out of the local brick making industry. The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter yesterday afternoon with the Rev H B Leech officiating.9 |
