Bertha Edna Peacock1

F, #38469, b. 9 September 1884, d. 8 April 1939
Father*Andrew L Peacock1 b. 18 Nov 1850, d. 30 Apr 1915
Mother*Mary Ann Brooksbank1 b. 18 Aug 1851
Married Name Her married name was Hall.1
Birth*9 September 1884 Bertha Edna Peacock was born on 9 September 1884 at Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Andrew Peacock and Mary Ann Brooksbank.1,2
Marriage*6 September 1911 She married Frederick Howard Hall, son of William Elijah Hall and Deborah Ann Maybee, on 6 September 1911 at Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario, Canada.1
Death*8 April 1939 Bertha Edna Peacock died on 8 April 1939 at Chatham, Kent County, Ontario, Canada, at age 54.3,4
oObit13 April 1939  On 13 April 1939 at Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario, Canada, the obituary of Bertha Edna Peacock read: It was not sudden as a day or an hour is concerned, yet it was sudden as years are concerned, as death early last Saturday in Chatham General Hospital claimed Mrs. Fred H. (Bertha) Hall. Until a few weeks ago, Mrs. Hall had been possessed of a rather normal health, but after surgical examination was made at the hospital three weeks ago, she was found to be hopelessly ill of a dread malady that little could be done for other than relieve her of suffering.
Mrs. Hall was a member of the well known Peacock family of Blenheim. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Peacock, predeceased her, but hers was the first break in the adult Peacock family of eight. These include Mrs. W. E. Hall (Florence), of Blenheim; Mrs. H. W. Edmunds (Cecil); Miss Ada and Miss Ida (twin sisters) of Blenheim; Mrs. A. D. Bruce (Winnie), of Edmonton; Arthur of Vancouver; Frank of Ridgedale Sask. who has been here during the past few weeks of his sister's illness. Other survivors besides her sorrowing husband are a son, Ernest, his wife and his infant son, born the same day as Mrs. Hall passed away.
For her husband and relatives who gave Mrs. Hall every devotion, there is a universal and sincere sympathy.
Mrs. Hall spent all her days in Blenheim, and in her youth rendered a very real service to the community by being switchborad operator for the Bell Telephone Company when it was still a young and underdeveloped enterprise in this town and district. At that time, the "central" was housed in the drug store of her brother-in-law, H. W. Edmund. This was when the drug store was located in the building now occupied by the Georgia Restaurant.
Mrs. Hall was a member of the Blenheim United Church, and active in its support. Remains rested at the Hall residence, Hall Street, until Monday noon, Service was at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in Needham's Funeral Home, in charge of her pastor, Rev. E. F. Armstrong. The floral tokens of sympathy were numerous and beautiful. The pallbearers were James F. Pegg, Dr. C. E. Buchanan, George T. Ross, Glenn C. Rutherford, F. M. Knight and C. F. Tumelty.
Among the friends from a distance who attended were Mrs. Edmonds who has been stopping here for some time, and son Murray, of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Will Hall, of Aylmer, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Shillington, of Amherstburg. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.5
Burial* She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario, Canada.3
