He was born February 7, 1927 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Horace James and Inez Saunders McFarlane. He was a descendant of early Weber County pioneers. He was educated in the public school system of Oakland, California, and received his B.A. and M.S. degrees from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1959. He had a private dental practice in Livermore, California for thirty-two years until his retirement from active practice in 1991. He has resided in Morgan (Milton), Utah, since that time. While in Livermore, he was active in community affairs, serving as a member, and as president, of the Board of Education of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, as a member of the Alameda County Grand Jury, and chaired numerous political and public action committees over the years. He was an active member of the LDS Church. His church activity in California included serving in the Stake Young Men's Presidency, Stake Sunday School Presidency, numerous Ward callings, as a High Counselor in the Pleasanton Stake, and as Bishop of the Livermore First Ward. He served as an LDS missionary in both the Palestine-Syrian, and French Missions between 1947 and 1950. Prior to entering the dental field, he was stricken with polio while working as a geologist in northern Utah, Nevada, and southern Idaho for Gulf Oil Corporation. Before that, he had worked for the U.S. Geological Survey and Midwest Oil Corporation in Wyoming. He served as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army, Pacific Theater, during World War II, then reenlisted after the war, to serve in the 2nd Infantry Division, at Fort Lewis, Washington. He held the rank of Staff sergeant. He was married to Lolita Ellen Field in the Salt Lake Temple on August 22, 1951. Four children were born to this union. He is survived by his wife Lolita, his children and their spouses, Dr. James Field McFarlane (Jeri), Riverton, Wyoming, Scott Saunders McFarlane (Leslie), Morgan, Utah, Bonnie McFarlane Clark (Dave), Magrath, Alberta, Canada, and Joesph Dwight McFarlane (Britt), Morgan, Utah. He is also survived by nineteen living grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren with two on the way. He was preceded in death by two sisters Helen Rowe and Adele Jensen and one grandchild James Field McFarlane Jr. His interests and hobbies, over the years, have included most outdoor activities; fishing, hunting, flying, mining, ranching, photography, and horses, but most of all his family. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Milton Chapel, 1255 North Morgan Valley Drive, Milton, Utah. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, Morgan, and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Milton Chapel. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery, 620 20th Street, Ogden, Utah.6 |

She spent her entire life serving others; everything from supporting her father on his mission to caring for both her mother and mother-in-law in their senior years, all while helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Renee endured the challenges, discomforts, and pain of a lengthy illness with courage, grace and dignity. Renee is survived by her husband, Lee; three daughters and their husbands: Maurina Lois and Russell Brown, of Centerville; Lisa and Phil Stanley, of Midvale; Monica and Gary Gardner; and five grandchildren: Adam K., Josiah R., Zachary C. Brown, and Katherine Lois and Breanna Lee Gardner, all of Centerville; one brother, Victor Clark McFarlane in Houston, Texas. Also survived by her Aunt Verna Cleverly, whom she considered her sister. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 25th at 2 p.m. at the Centerville 6th Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville. Dad was born November 10, 1930 in Fruita, Colorado to William J. and Bertha Mae Crockett, both deceased. He married Lois Renee McFarlane on March 18, 1951. His sweetheart Renee preceded him in death by 6½ years and he truly missed her. Dad worked on all the Aerospace Programs from Titan to Space Shuttle. He was a Metallurgic Engineer and was prominent in his field, having developed many materials and processes necessary to the success of the Space Program. In particular he developed the testing, bonding and material selection of the Space Shuttle tiles. Following his retirement in 1988, Lee and Renee moved from Cypress, California to Centerville, Utah. Lee was on a Presidential Commission regarding the future of the Aerospace industry. Lee had many hobbies and interests: computer programming, electronics, painting, rock hounding, lapidary work, camping and fishing. He could fix anything, loved to teach and worked in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by three daughters: Maurina and Russ Brown, North Richland Hills, Texas; Lisa Crockett-Stanley, Salt Lake City; Monica and Gary Gardner, Centerville; and 6 grandchildren: Adam, Josiah, Zachary, Katherine, Breanna, and Jacob. Brothers: Donald and Helen, Olathe Colorado; Kelly and Norma Jean, Placentia, California. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 13, 2002, 12:00 noon at the Centerville 6th Ward, 900 S. 400 E. Friends may call Sat. from 11:00 -12:00 at the church. Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery under the direction of Independent Funeral Service of Bountiful.6 |

Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member and past President of the Jaycee's, the recipient of the1958 Jr. Chamber of Commerce DSA Award, a civic leader, and local businessman. He owned Dee Pyne Auto Sales and sold automobiles most of his life. Dee will be remembered for his love of his family and friends and his colorful character. He dedicated the last 2 1/2 years to tenderly watching over his sweet wife Helen. Rain or shine he faithfully visited her several times daily at her care center where they had the rare opportunity to fall in love all over again. Dee is survived by his wife, Helen, and children Debbie Rohbock, Dee Randy (Ann) Pyne, Michelle (Skip) Dunn, brother Max Pyne, 12 Grandchildren, and 22 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs., Feb. 21, 2008, at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 N. Orem. Family and Friends may visit Wed. evening Feb 20th, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Thurs. morning prior to the Services.
