oObit*12 July 2008  On 12 July 2008 at Janesville, Wisconsin, the obituary of Gloria D. Nedland read: Gloria D. Maybee, 69, of Janesville, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the HospiceCare Inc. Inpatient Unit, Fitchburg, following a 10-month battle with Acute Leukemia. She was born in Viroqua on Oct. 1, 1938, the daughter of Joseph and Inger (Mageland) Nedland. Gloria graduated from the Winona State Medical Transcription School. She married Terry G. Maybee on Dec. 11, 1965, in Viroqua. They moved to Janesville in November of 1966, and she went to work for Dr.'s Odland and Gredler as a Medical Secretary. Gloria was also instrumental in the development of the Medical Transcription Program at Blackhawk Technical College. She was an active member of Saunders Creek Community Church, where her Faith and family served as her foundation in life. Gloria in her later years formed her own business, Glo Jewelry Expressions for Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; two children: Christi (Allan) Newell and Stacy (Linda) Maybee, both of Janesville; six grandchildren: Chesney, Alayna, Maci, McKenna, Brianna, and Nichole; her special pet, Yorkie, JoJo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings: Arnold and Lloyd Nedland and Orla Eide.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at New Life Assembly of God, with Pastor Tom Zillman officiating. As her primary physician at Mayo Clinic stated, Gloria's ministry through her illness impacted many lives, and her personal relationship with Jesus Christ allowed her peace to be a witness to doctors, nurses, patients, and others.1
