March 4th, 1861 , had 3 children
Feb. 13th 1862, had 4 children
These 12 children were all born within three years and seven months and are all living and healthy". This is a copy from a memorandum given by the father, Mr Mabie.9

Any information of him will be thankfully received at 170 Lee Avenue, Brooklyn." This refers to Peter L. Mabie, Jr., who, in this time frame, was discovered to have been a bigamist. This advertisement was paid for by Maria Louise Braden Mabie, the wife who stayed in NYC. Meanwhile, Peter and his other wife and family moved to San Francisco, CA. on 9 November 1875 at New York City, New York.8

(Witness) Probate20 May 1925 Ellen Marquis was mentioned when Isabella Mabie's will was probated on 20 May 1925 at Surrogate's Office, Mineola, Nassau County, New York. "Before Surrogate Leone D. Howell yesterday, relatives of the late Mrs. Bella Strobe, of Grove Street, Hempstead, appeared to contest the probate of her will in which she cut off her kin, for the most part with $1, and gave her estate to Halstead Hartman, a clerk who lived at her home. Mrs. Strobe was 62 years old when she died. The relatives declare that Mrs. Strobe was not capable of making a valid will and that she, was unduly influenced in the disposition of her property. Surrogate Howell heard but little of the testimony yesterday and the case was not finished, adjournment being taken for four weeks. Mrs. Strube died December 9 last, says Assistant District Attorney James N. Gehrig, whose firm. Seabury, Seaman A Gehrig, appear for the will. Mr. Gehrig also says that the following nephews and nieces received $1 each under the will Lillian Cullen, 1845 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn; Lillie, Louisa, John and William Marquis, 586 Warren Street, Brooklyn. To Mrs. Marie Schroeder, a sister, of 150 West 105th Street, Manhattan, was given what cash was in the bank, but two brothers, Harry and Pierre Mabie, of Waynesville. Ill., got a dollar each."4

Mrs. Strobe was 62 years old when she died. The relatives declare that Mrs. Strobe was not capable of making a valid will and that she, was unduly influenced in the disposition of her property. Surrogate Howell heard but little of the testimony yesterday and the case was not finished, adjournment being taken for four weeks. Mrs. Strube died December 9 last, says Assistant District Attorney James N. Gehrig, whose firm. Seabury, Seaman A Gehrig, appear for the will.
