(Mentioned) oObit | 3 August 1911 | Miriam Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of of Levi Mabee on 3 August 1911 at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED Mr. Levi Mabee Passes Over to the Majority. The funeral of the late Levi Mabee, one of Winnipeg's old timers, took place Monday afternoon to St. John's cemetery. Mr. Mabee was the eldest son of W. B. Mabee, of West Oxford, Ont. He was associated with his father for many years in agricultural, lumbering and milling industries. Later he moved to Seaforth, county of Huron, where he carried on a similar line of business, coming to Winnipeg in the early eighties, where he spent the remaining years of his life, with the exception of four or five years in British Columbia. In the early days Mr. Mabee carried on a wood and coal business in the city representing the one time the Pioneer Fuel Company of the south. He was a charter member of the First A. O. U. W. lodge instituted in the city, he was a Baptist, being connected with the Logan Avenue Baptist church during all the years of Its existence. He leaves to survive him a wife and four daughters, Miss Mabee and Mrs. J. F. McIntyre of Wlnnlpeg; Mrs. B. F. Hills of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. W. D. Scott, of Neepawa, Manitoba.11 |
