Mr. Mabey was a retired employee of the American Locomotive Co. in Schenectady and was a member of the Boght Reformed Church and the Boght Corners Volunteer Fire Department Besides his widow, Mr. Mabey is survived by a son, Howard Mabey of Schenectady; a brother, Walter Mabey of Schenectady; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Jennings Funeral Home. 174 Mohawk Street, Cohoes. Interment will be in Niskayung Cemetery.11 |

King of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the spring in Sweetman's cemetery, Charlton. Mr. Mabee wna born In Glenville, Nov. 6, 1866. He had been employed as a machinist on the Boston and Maine Railroad about 40 years and retired 27 years ago. He and his wife, the former Daisy Whitehouse, had lived on Germania avenue for the last .10 years. He had been a charter member of the I Rotterdam Junction lOOF Lodge. She had been ill for two weeks. Mrs. Reynolds was born on June 24. 1849, in Glenville, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Belle Maybee. She was a. member of the First Baptist church of Schenectady, and in later years attended the Presbyterian church of Charlton. The survivors, besides her husband, are one son, Wilson Whitford, Schenectady; three daughters, Mrs. George Pfau. Mrs. David Hest, Mrs. James Mitchell, all of Schenectady, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and .nephews. The body will be removed to the home of her daughter. Mrs. James Mitchell, 1419 McClellan street, Schenectady, where friends may call tonight. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Theodore DeVries, pastor of the Charlton Presbyterian church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Scotia. Fultonville. Oct. 23.—.3 |

(Witness) oObit | 23 October 1933 | William Reynolds was mentioned in the obituary of Elizabeth Mabee on 23 October 1933 at Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York; Elizabeth Maybee Reynolds. 84. wife of William E. Reynolds, died Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of Fred Morris, in the town of Charleston, where she had resided for the past four years. Death was caused by pneumonia. She had been ill for two weeks. Mrs. Reynolds was born on June 24. 1849, in Glenville, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Belle Maybee. She was a. member of the First Baptist church of Schenectady, and in later years attended the Presbyterian church of Charlton. The survivors, besides her husband, are one son, Wilson Whitford, Schenectady; three daughters, Mrs. George Pfau. Mrs. David Hest, Mrs. James Mitchell, all of Schenectady, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and .nephews. The body will be removed to the home of her daughter. Mrs. James Mitchell, 1419 McClellan street, Schenectady, where friends may call tonight. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Theodore DeVries, pastor of the Charlton Presbyterian church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Scotia. Fultonville. Oct. 23.—.2 |

(Witness) Anecdote | 17 June 1840 | Declaration of Helen Maybee under Pension Act of 4th July 1836 State of New York, County of Schenectady On this 17th day of June 1840 formally appeared before the Court of Common Pleas of the said County of Schenectady now sitting Helen Maybee of the town of Glenville in the said County aged seventy years who being duly examined and sworn deposeth and Saith that she is a daughter of Isaac & Nelly Palmatier deceased. That her mother the said Nelly Palmatier at the time of her death (which occurred on the 27th day of February 1837) was (as this (as this Declarant believes) entitled to a pension under the Act of Congress posted July 4, 1836, That the said Nelly Palmatier was duly married to the said Isaac Palmatier at Poughkeepsie NY many years previous to the War of the Revolution & that the marriage ceremony was performed by the Pastor of the Reformed Dutch Church at that place, as this Declarant has been frequently and credibly informed, but this Declarant is unable state the precise time when said marriage occurred but believed it was in the year1760. That the said Nelly Palmatier previous to her said marriage resided in said town of Poughkeepsie, and bore the maiden name of Van De Bogart. That after her said marriage, they moved to the County of Albany where they remained until after the said War of the Revolution when they returned to Poughkeepsie. And this Declarant further declares that her father the said Isaac Palmatier was a soldier of the United States during said War of the Revolution & was frequently called into service in the Albany County militia to which he belonged and that while in said service he was taken a prisoner by the British, conveyed to Canada, and retained in imprisonment for more than eighteen months. Declarant thinks for period of two years. That he was thus taken prisoner several years previous to the close of said War, and as this Declarant has been informed in the company with Lieutenant Pouter and a number of others the names of whom this Declarant cannot now remember. That this Declarant cannot state under what officers her father served, but well knows that he was frequently absent from home upon military expeditions from the commencement of the said War until the time of his capture as aforesaid. And this Declarant further testified that her father the said Isaac Palmatier departed this life five years previous to the decease of her mother as aforesaid and that her mother the said Nelly Palmatier remained the widow of the said Isaac until the said time of her decease to wit, the 27 day of February 1837 aforesaid. That Nelly Houghtaling of the town of — County of Steuben & state of New York, Hannah Vedder of the town of Truxton Courtland County in the said state, and this Declarant are the only surviving children of the said Isaac & Nelly Palmatier, the rest having long since departed this life to wit Maria, Helahantia, Sophia, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Sarah. her Helen x Maybee mark Sworn to and subscribed on the day and year above written before me in open Court Archd Comphill, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas And the said Court do hereby declare their opinion after the investigation of the matter that Helen Maybee is a daughter of Isaac Palmatier deceased, that said Isaac Palmatier was a soldier of the Revolution, and that his widow Nelly Palmatier departed this life as stated in the above disposition & further that all the facts set forth on Said declaration are true. I, Archd Comphill - Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas in the aforesaid County of Schenectady do hereby certify that the foregoing contains the original proceedings of the said Court in the matter of the application of Nelly Houghtaling, Hannah Vedder & Helen Maybee for a pension. Mabie, 77, expired Wednesday morning at 12:45 o:clock at his home at 321 South Detroit Street. Dr. Mabie had been ill for the past week and ailing for the past five years, suffering from general breakdown, due to paralysis. Dr. Mabie was born in Kosciusko county, May 16, 1857, son of Eli and Eliza Mabie. He resided in this county all his life. He was united in marriage December 30, 1876, to Katherine Secrist, who is among the surviving relatives. Dr. Mabie was a veterinarian by profession. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Besides the widow, two sons, Bert O. Mabie, of Warsaw, and Thomas A. Mabie of Kansas City, one daughter, Mrs Blanche Hazen of South Bend, one sister, Mrs. Charles Weimer of near North Webster, and seven grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be at North Webster.11 |

The body was in an upright position in a chair. It is believed he died the night before of a heart attack. Mr. Mabie was born near North Webster, Aug 31, 1877, the son of William A. and Catherine Mabie. Several years ago he was a candidate for the Republican nomination as sheriff, an office once held by his father, the late Dr. William A. Mabie. He served as deputy sheriff during his father's incumbency. He served a number of years as constable in Turkey Creek Township, being very active in law-enforcement around Lake Wawasee. He had resided in Warsaw the past 16 years and was a member of the Christian church. The surviving relatives are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Method, of Syracuse; Mrs. O.C. Daft, of Indianapolis; two sons, Eldred Mabie, of near Syracuse; Auldon Mabie, of Warsaw; one brother Thomas A. Mabie of Kansas City, Mo; and one sister Mrs. L. F. Hazel, of South Bend. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, 2 p.m. at the Landis funeral home, Rev. A.V. Hayes of the Christian church, will have charge of the service, and burial will be made in North Webster cemetery.16 |
