George was one of the pioneers of this town, an honest and worthy citizen, respected by all who knew him; and was followed to the grave by a procession over half mile in length, all deep sympathizers with the bereaved. In him we have lost a good citizen of this town, an industrious and thrifty farmer, and a stanch Republican. At about noon of the same day, Mrs. Kent, an old and esteemed lady, also a pioneer, passed away after a lingering illness. Of 'Aunt Harriet', as all were please to call her, we will deeply feel the loss. She was the mother-in-law of Julius Richardson, whose mother died about the same time, all three being buried yesterday. The funerals of the first two were held at the Christian Church at Watson Corners. I have been a resident of Watson 26 years and never known two funerals being the same day.13
Burial* He was buried at Hicks Cemetery, Watson Township, Allegan County, Michigan.12
