Stan was born September 26, 1948 in Vallejo, California, to Eugene and Esther Reich, and was the youngest of two sons. Stan Grew up in Vallejo and had many fond memories of the schools and churches he attended and the friendships he made.
It was during these years that he developed his love of music, learning to play the guitar and singing in several choirs and quartets. He also became an avid swimmer, competing in swim meets and spending his summers as a lifeguard. He graduated from Vallejo High School in 1967, attended Solano Jr. College for a year before packing up his blue VW bug and heading to Nampa, and NNC.
While attending NNC, he continued to sing and play the guitar in several quartets and choirs: he especially enjoyed playing folk and gospel music, which he enjoyed until the day he left this earth.
It was while he was attending NNC that he met Linda Mabee. They were married in March of 1971, raised two sons and have made their home in Nampa for the past 41 years.
Stan worked for 20 years as a journeyman meat cutter. He worked in sales and security for 10 years, and spent the last 9 years as a correctional officer for Corrections Corporation of America. He retired in August, 2011 due to failing health.
Stan is survived by his wife, Linda, two sons, Eric (Julia) Reich of Nampa, Steve Reich of Boise, four grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Julia, and Isaac Reich, all of Nampa, his "grandpuppy", Perri, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by twin brothers, who died at birth, his older brother, Robin Reich and his parents.
Stan often dreamed of learning to fly, and on his 60th birthday was given a flying lesson. This was one of the high points of his life, he so enjoyed the feeling of freedom that flying offered. Now Stan is truly free to soar among the clouds. Good-bye Stan, Dad, and grandpa: enjoy your flight.
Burial will be at the Sweet-Montour Cemetery in Sweet, Idaho, under the direction Of Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel.1
