oObit*5 August 2012  On 5 August 2012 at New Jersey the obituary of Frederick James Mabie read: Frederick James, Jr. "Fred" Mabie, age 89, died peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Corona del Mar, CA where he had been a resident for the past year. Fred was born and raised in Waldwick and lived there his entire life before moving to Corona del Mar. He retired from N.J. Bell Telephone Co. following a distinguished 39 year career. Fred served during WWII in the United States Marine Corps, he was stationed in the Pacific, including landing on Okinawa. Fred was a skilled craftsman and over his lifetime built and worked on numerous homes in Bergen County. He was able to fix and repair anything and was always willing to do so for a long list of grateful family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving are his devoted children, Donna Peters and her husband Rick, Valerie Dryka and her husband Ron, Nadine Mulvey and her husband Tom, and Frederick J. Mabie and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and Donald Mabie, his 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Fred was pre-deceased by his brothers John Edward Mabie and Ken Mabie and his sister Gloria Mabie Durkin.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 7th at the Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, NJ. Arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff.10 
Burial He was buried at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey.11

He was born in Waldwick and moved to Upper Saddle River where he married Jean H. Mabie (Hunt), his wife of 64 years. He was a Marine corporal who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was awarded four bronze stars for valor in combat. He was a master mason and land surveyor.
He is survived by his brothers, Frederick J Mabie, Donald Mabie and Robert Mabie; his children, Edward H. Mabie, Susan Mabie McNamee, Linda A. Wilke and Frederick B. Mabie; his seven grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gloria Dunkin and Kenneth Mabie.
Arrangements were by the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Memorial donations may be made to Upper Saddle River Volunteer EMS.5

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter Gloria Jean who lives at home; five sons Fred J, Robert H, Donald T, and Kenneth W of Waldwick, and John E of Upper Saddle River, and a sister Mrs Myrtle Reilly of Paterson.7

She was born on October 3, 1942 in Lick Branch, Arkansas, near Harrison, Arkansas; the daughter of Edd and Sue (Christian) Grisham, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to J.R. Maybee, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Edna was a graduate of Alpena High School in Alpena, Arkansas and throughout the years enjoyed cooking meals for many school children around the Kansas City Area. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Crittenton Children’s Hospital in Kansas City.
While living in Harrison, Arkansas, she attended Crossroads Community Church, after moving back to the family farm in Alpena, Arkansas, she attended Alpena Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother and enjoyed cooking, especially making homemade noodles and canning jelly with her grandchildren. She loved the peace and quiet the outdoors brought her while gardening her vegetables and beautiful floral gardens.
Edna had a witty personality and enjoyed sweets, especially hot fudge sundaes and malts with her daughters. She liked to go shopping including sidewalk sales and finding a bargain was always a good time. Most of all, Edna loved her family and the memories they shared will always be remembered and cherished.
She is survived by two daughters: Susan (Mike) Barnett of Eldon and Debbie Greenwood of Independence, Missouri; two brothers: David (Connie) Grisham of Alpena, Arkansas and Gary (Sandy) Grisham of Harrison, Arkansas; one sister: Sarah (Randy) Newman of Harrison, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Carene Ladner of Perkinston, Mississippi, Aaron Waldrop of Kansas City, Missouri, Devon Cheek of Springfield, Missouri and Christopher Waldrop of Overland Park, Kansas and two great grandchildren: Taia Waldrop and Xavier Waldrop.2

Wilma is also survived by three grandchildren, James Rooke, Dalton Overlin and Jolene Overlin. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Mabey; and one sister, Barbara Hubbard.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park," with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Sunset Memorial Park. Lynn was united in marriage to Edwin H. Mabey on August 31, 1946 in Tijuana, Mexico.
She loved to read and shop. Lynn thoroughly enjoyed life.
Mrs. Mabey is survived by her husband, Edwin of Cañon City; children, Sherri Gentry, Terri Mabey, and Tim (Marsha) Mabey; grandchildren, Tim (Amanda), Samantha, and Carissa; four great grandchildren; and special friend Sheila Stout. Lynn was loved by many and a true friend to all.4

Ed served in the Marines where he met and married Lynn Strawdermand. They were married for 66 years. They moved to Colorado in 1952 and he went to work at the Climax Mine. He became shift boss. He retired after 30 years.
They moved to Humbolt, Kan. Where he and Lynn lived until a flood took all they owned. They moved back to Buena Vista in June, 2006. Ed loved to fish, hunt and work with his hands building things with wood. The love of his life, Lynn, passed away July 12, 2012 in Cañon City. He missed and loved her so much. Now he can be with his true love. He will be so missed by so many.
Arrangements were by Holt Family Funeral Home in Cañon City.8
